BASIC RIFLE CLEANING CLASS
I will teach you how to clean all parts of your rifle and how to properly store it for long-term preservation.
Why Clean a Rifle?
Proper firearm maintenance is critical for reliable and accurate rifle performance. After every shot, combustion byproducts build up, causing fouling that can impair accuracy and functionality. Regular cleaning prevents malfunctions, extends service life, and maintains precision.
How Often Should You Clean a Rifle?
Recreational/Target Rifles: Clean after every few uses or as needed.
Hunting/Home Defense Rifles: Clean regularly to ensure reliability in critical situations.
Black Powder Rifles: Clean after every use to prevent corrosion.
Rifles with Corrosive Ammunition: Clean immediately after firing to avoid damage.
Initial Preparation
Safety First: Ensure the rifle is unloaded. Remove the magazine, clear the chamber, and visually inspect the firearm.
Well-Ventilated Space: Use a well-lit and ventilated area with adequate space for cleaning supplies and parts.
Wear Protection: Use eye protection and consider gloves to avoid exposure to chemicals and residues.
