The New Digital Process for Arizona CCW Permits
Arizona DPS now encourages all CCW applications to be submitted online through their digital system. The process is streamlined, secure, and more convenient for applicants. All steps, including the application and fingerprinting, are now handled electronically.
Steps to Obtain Your Arizona CCW Permit
Step 1: Take a Firearms Safety Course
Enroll in a DPS-approved CCW course with Two Aces Tactical AZ. Our training provides the knowledge and skills needed to safely and responsibly carry a concealed weapon in Arizona.
Step 2: Complete Your Application Online
Apply directly through the Arizona DPS online portal: https://azdpsccw.permitium.com/ccw/start
Step 3: Get Fingerprinted Digitally
Schedule your fingerprinting appointment with Fieldprint, a DPS-authorized private provider: https://usa.fieldprint.com/
Note: The fingerprinting service has a separate fee paid directly to Fieldprint.
Step 4: Upload Required Documents
Through the AZ DPS portal, submit:
Your training certificate from www.TATAZ.org
A valid government-issued photo ID
Online payment for the DPS application fee ($60 for new, $43 for renewal)
DPS requests that all documents be submitted digitally to ensure fast and efficient processing. Mailing is still an option but is not preferred.
Processing Time
Arizona DPS processes applications within 60 days. Approved CCW permits will be mailed to your home address.
Renewals
Permits are valid for five years. Renewal applications can be submitted through the same online portal and do not require repeating the training course. Make sure to renew before your permit expires to maintain active status.
Reciprocity
Arizona CCW permits are accepted in 37 states. Laws vary, so always verify the regulations of your destination state. Visit www.TATAZ.org for up-to-date reciprocity information.
When traveling with a firearm, make sure it is unloaded and secured in a locked container, with ammunition stored separately. Always follow TSA and local travel regulations.
Conclusion
While Arizona permits constitutional carry, obtaining a CCW offers added benefits like reciprocity, faster firearm purchases, and the ability to carry in more restricted areas.
Get certified with Two Aces Tactical AZ and carry confidently.
